For this project, I photographed unusual pets in their domestic environments during 2012-2015. Some people are drawn to share a home with creatures like snakes, bearded dragons, hedgehogs, and ferrets. These pets are fascinating animals, to be sure, but their relationship with the owners is not as clear and established as the companionship and comfort offered by dogs and cats. I am interested in exploring the elements of these relationships. The introduction to the book was written by Tamatha Perlman.
